What Is Organic Food
Organic food is produced with sustainable methods and do not involve modern synthetic inputs such as pesticides and chemical

organic food
fertilizers, and do not contain any genetically modified organisms, they are processed with irradiation, industrial solvents, or chemical food additives, and they weren’t treated with hormones. Organic foods use natural methods like composting and rotating cultures to fertilize the soil, and they make sure that the soil is healthy, alive, so that the plant will be too, instead of adding all sorts of minerals to the soil that became dead after all life has been killed by pesticides.
Organic food is not new
Agriculture has been “organic” (even if it wasn’t called so) for as long as there has been agriculture on earth, and food has been organic for as long as there has been food… until some funny humans who wanted more money decided to change everything. It is only in the last century that a large supply of new synthetic chemicals was introduced in the food supply. The organic movement started in the 1940s, in response to the Green Revolution, or the industrialization and centralization of agriculture. But it is important to understand that normal agriculture is organic agriculture. Many farmers, in fear of insects, don’t even want to imagine life without pesticides, while organic farmers don’t have as much trouble with insects, because most pests only compost what is not good for consumption. If a garden is healthy, it won’t have trouble with insects, the same way that if a body has a strong immune system, it won’t allow bacteria to take over. The addition of pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, as well as the weird genetically modified organisms is not, has never been, and should never be accepted as a normal, healthy, sustainable way of agriculture or farming, because it is not.
Organic food only is healthy
Organically grown food looks better, tastes better, and is healthier than conventionally grown foods. How can people imagine that substances killing insects won’t do humans any harm? What are humans, if not a certain type of “very big insects”? As a fruit picker who has been working for a few years in both organic and conventional farms and orchards, I assure you that pesticides aren’t suited for humans, nor for insects, nor for the plants, and nor for the environment. They produce nose bleed, make humans cough in minutes when they enter certain fields, provoke asthma, make humans weak and tired because their immune system is fighting hard poison, etc. This is easy to see, but there are also many long-term consequences to exposure to pesticides which are less easy to see, such as infertility, cancer, and different kinds of malfunctions.
Organic foods don’t produce such problems. They are full of vitality, more colorful, more tasteful, firm, they smell what they should smell, and not… nothing, or something else, as many conventional foods do.
Organic plants have nourished humanity and animals for millions of years, without any problem, while conventional agriculture since industrialization has destroyed soils, water, air, and human health, in a few decades only. Why still bother to use conventional agriculture? What is the problem of those humans who don’t trust nature to feed humans with the food they need, when it does so for all other animals, as it did for millions of years? From now on, let’s choose organic food and help the world be healthier!
